Floyd Against Drugs Supports Local Organizations with Critical Donations

fadsite

In March 2024, Floyd Against Drugs (FAD) proudly presented checks to several local organizations dedicated to keeping our community safe. The Exchange Club Family Resource Center, Rome Police Department, Rome/Floyd Fire Department, and the Rome/Floyd K-9 Group all received funding to support their life-saving efforts.

The Exchange Club Family Resource Center used its donation to equip Parent Aid workers with Narcan, the emergency antidote for opioid overdoses. These workers are in direct contact with families and may encounter crises where immediate intervention is crucial.

The Rome Police Department and Rome/Floyd County Fire Department also used the funds to purchase Narcan for their first responders. Having this life-saving medication readily available allows them to act swiftly in overdose emergencies, potentially saving lives in critical moments.

Additionally, the Rome/Floyd K-9 Group utilized its donation to purchase scent training kits for their K-9 units. These kits play an essential role in training dogs to detect narcotics, enhancing their ability to keep dangerous substances off our streets.

These contributions were made possible through the success of the Annual Floyd Against Drugs Murder Mystery fundraiser, held each March. Thanks to the generosity of our community, FAD continues to provide resources that make a real difference in the fight against drug abuse and its devastating effects.

Floyd Against Drugs remains committed to education, prevention, and support for those affected by substance abuse. We are grateful for the partnerships with local organizations and for the continued support from our community members who help make these donations possible.
